Despite my young age (24), I’ve been in the public relations industry for 8 years now. It began with an internship at a boutique PR firm in Miami; I was 16 and still in high school but I took a shot and hit a bullseye – I learned a lot and had my first piece published in a national magazine within 6 months. I went on to intern at a highly respected full-service firm in Fort Lauderdale. After high school, I joined one of the most exclusive public relations programs (10% acceptance rate) in the country and received a formal education in all things PR. I’m also a professional event photographer and adept event planner.
How do you get your story picked up by the media? Through media pitches! Just one placement can be the equivalent of thousands of dollars in advertising.
